Statement
Living and working on Ireland’s east coast in County Wexford, my practice centres on the shifting volatility of the Irish Sea. Through acrylic and oil painting, I explore the tension between atmosphere and impact — the charged stillness before a storm breaks.
The sea, for me, is not a backdrop but a force. It embodies instability, rhythm and psychological intensity. My work focuses on dramatic light transitions, dense cloud formations and the physical weight of water. Using layered paint and expressive mark-making, I attempt to convey both movement and suspension — moments where energy gathers but has not yet released.
These seascapes are not documentary; they are meditations on power, fragility and endurance within the Irish coastal landscape.
