This painting captures a distant view of the Great Sugar Loaf mountain as seen from the rugged heather and rock-covered top of Carrigoona Commons East mountain. The warm crimson and yellow of the hilltop native wild-flowers stand in stark contrast with the austere deep-mauve of the Sugar Loaf monolith.
